"The Rape of a Nation"
(From left to right: Marcus Bleasdale, an exponent from Norwegian People's Aid, filmdirector Erik Poppe.)
Yesterday, I took part in the launching of Marcus Bleasdale's (VII) newest book; "The Rape of a Nation". It's a collection of photographs Bleasdale has taken for a term of ten years, that shows us the continuing human tragedy that have been going on for too many years in Congo. But the book also shows an enormous strength and love of life in the congolese souls.

I want you to visit this link: http://mediastorm.com/0022.htm
The video shows you some photographs from the book, and also an interview with Marcus Bleasdale. I also recommend to buy the book. Even if you're a photographer or not. All the money goes to a help-project for the suffering congolese people. It's not about art, but about a very tragic situation that is concealed behind stories and images of celebrities in the media. It's a shame.

We norwegians have heard a lot about the situation of these two guys, Moland and French. But NOTHING about the tradegy Bleasdale has covered for all these years. Why?

Analog
Just a quick update with some analog photographs. I don't have a scanner yet, so I just had to photograph the negatives. The first four images are taken with my Hasselblad 500C, and the other two are taken with my Holga 135.

Who are you?

A selfportrait for the last assignment I got from Robert Sannes. I don't want to tell the meaning behind the photograph. I don't want to lead you and decide what you shall think. I want you to construe the picture and make your own opinion.

Photoshop, Shotophop
I tried out some new photoshop-techniques we learned at school last week. We got an assignment from commercialphotographer Damian Heinisch. The task is to make a campaign for a product. This is one of three photographs. It's not perfect, but I'm still learning.

(The three images I used.)
(Final result.)
We are going to have a lecture with Ashley Cameron in a few weeks, and he will teach us more about this kind of photography. I must admit that I was not a very fan of this kind of photography until we had the lecture last week. But now, I'm in love.
